Mission

My mission is to create a collaborative relationship with my clients that is rooted in dignity, kindness, and respect so that my clients may reach their therapeutic goals in an authentic way. My hope is that my clients will feel empowered and safe so that together we can explore your strengths and unique paths. I am committed to practicing with cultural humility as I understand the importance of how gender, race, sexuality, disability and other factors influence how we engage in life's challenges.

Approach

In my approach I am dedicated to compassion and grace towards my clients. I will help you identify the changes you hope to create while setting attainable goals towards healing and growth both in our time together and in between sessions. I practice Solution- Focused Brief Therapy and believe that you are the expert in your life. Together, we can set intentions for your future through resources and psycho-education in a space where you feel seen, valued, heard and understood. My aim is to support my clients on their journey towards feeling connected to themselves and the world around them in a meaningful way.

Training

I received my B.A. in Communications at the University of Iowa and graduated with my M.A. as a Marriage and Family Therapist from Mount Mercy University. I am certified as a trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapist and specialize in working with those who identify as LGBTQ+. I view the world through a feminist lens and have a passion for working with those who are seeking to understand their lived experience in a way that aligns with their own values and personal beliefs despite the challenges encountered along the way.
